How To Save Your Phone When Damaged By Water

With cell phones becoming a vital element of our lives, people often fear them getting damaged. This fear is not just regarding cell phones but all the gadgets that you carry along. For instance, getting an iPhone screen repair or iPod screen repair is certainly a difficult task. Moreover, the scenario gets worse when your cell phone gets wet. But still, it is not the end of the world. You can rescue your phone when you act quickly.

This will prevent your handset from getting any further damage. It also depends on the amount of water that is splashed on your phone or there is a possibility of dropping it in a puddle. No matter what the reason was, the very first thing you have to do is remove the battery and don't keep it back until you are done with all phases of cell phone rescue.

In case of a non-removable battery, switch it off completely. After that, try drying it out. The easiest way to get this done is to bury your phone in a pack of silica gel. They are easily available as packaged material alongside some electronic devices. In case, you can't get your hands on silica gel beads, you can test another method.

Burying your phone in some bowl containing rice is another option you can try. But see to it that the phone is completely submerged in it. The technique, as it may be clear by now, is meant to remove moisture. The big question is how long it must be kept in the bowl for removal of water completely. Though the timeframe varies according to the amount of wetness, you can keep it there for 24 hours for best results.

If you were to think the dampness is sufficiently gone, you can replace the battery back in its place. When you see any trace of water at all, just pull out the battery and keep the phone in rice until the moisture is completely gone.

This is not an ultimate solution but certainly gives you one last chance to save your precious phone and with it the important data that you cannot bear to lose.

According to some people, even a hair dryer can be used to blow dry your handset. This can actually be damaging to some essential circuits of your delicate handset. As you all know, damaging a circuit can get beyond repair, so it is the last thing you ever want to do.

Even after all these tips, rescuing a phone is not easy. The best approach will be careful in the first place to prevent any such damage. Next up is to go for some of the above-mentioned methods to save your phone. The key point here is to remain calm so that you should use the resources up to your maximum potentials. Apparently, all of the times, damage due to water is beyond repair if dampness successfully reaches the internal circuitry. If this is incorrect, you still have a chance.
